CFC Refrigerants

CFCs were introduced in the early 20th century, and quickly became established as the leading refrigerant solution.

CFC (Chlorofluorocarbon) refrigerants include R11, R12, R113, R114 and R115.

These products are categorized to have high ODP (Ozone Depletion Potential) and high GWP (Global Warming Potential). These products are subject to usage legislation. According to the Montreal Protocol, this includes the sales ban in Article 2 (developed) countries from 1996, and Article 5 (developing) countries from 2010.

Messer can help you choose suitable replacement products that offer less environmental impact whilst still providing effective chilling and cooling capacity.
