Cryogenic deflashing uses liquid nitrogen (LIN) to remove flash from rubber-molded parts. Low temperatures cause flashes on parts made of rubber, plastic and some types of metal to temporarily become so brittle that they break when subjected to stress. Various types of machines are used to deflash a wide range of molded parts, to maintain output and revenue and prevent production line problems.
